THE VILLAGES RV CLUB MEETING
JANUARY 12, 2007
The meeting was called to order at 10:04 am by President, Al Sandy.
Acting Secretary, Carole Kugleman's MINUTES were read and approved.
Treasurer, Irwin King reported a Net Total Balance of $xxxx in the treasury.
President Sandy addressed the following issues:
The Club treasury substantially contributes funds for a number of activities
including the Christmas Party and the Club Picnic.
Because of the overwhelming popularity of previous Dunedin Rallies, and a limit
of only 25 attending rigs, a new procedure was announced for signing up. Names
would be placed in a drawing and 25 would be pulled to attend. A waiting list
was also established in the event of any cancellations.
Club members were reminded to bring their Villages ID cards to every meeting
because The Villages performs periodic checks to insure that only Village
Residents are participating in Village activities.
An encouraging report from Nancy Eisenhauer indicated that she has not sent out
any "Get Well" cards in quite awhile. The Club was reminded that if
they know of anyone who is ill, facing surgery or other family matters, to
contact Nancy so she can send them a card.
Al asked if there was any interest in repeating a trip to Renfro Valley, KY.
They have their own campground and Country Western Shows almost every night. In
the past, the cost was around $350. A possible rally timeframe would be in
September. The campground is about 730 miles from the Villages.
A reminder that if you are on the waiting list for an RV parking spot, make sure
your contact information is up-to-date. Several names were passed over recently
because their contact information was not current.
Wagonmaster, Frank Boisey shared with the club that the President has directed a
policy to deal with cancellations that are causing serious problems. At present,
this is being developed and will be presented to the Club at a later date for
consideration. This is a touchy subject, so they want to make sure that it is
handled properly.
The 2006 Wagon Master committee developed a policy that requires Wagon Masters
to notify the Head Wagon Master about any trips including cancellations. When
approved, the Head Wagon Master will give the information to the Webmaster to
post on the RV Club Website. If you are planning a trip, notify Frank by email.
Once the trip is approved, and posted on the Website, any changes or deletions
to the trip information will be handled between the Wagonmaster and the
Webmaster (with the exception of trip dates).
If a trip date is being changed, the Wagonmaster will notify the Head
Wagonmaster who will then direct the Webmaster to note that change on the
website. This policy will eliminate the planning of more than one event on the
same date.
Wagonmasters are encouraged to use the website as much as possible. Once all of
your trip information is available, go to the "Events Calendar" on the
website and follow the instructions. The Webmaster will then post the
information.
We need more Wagonmasters. Usually, the same folks continue to do this job year
after year. With the Club's continuing growth, we have plenty of opportunities
for new people to step up and volunteer for this job. Former Wagonmasters are
happy to assist new people in planning and running their trips.
Lazydays Rally Packets are available today. All information pertaining to the
rally are in this packet, including golfing information.
March 5-8 Strawberry Festival - Chuck and Judy Bertsch and Ron & Nancy
are the Wagonmasters. This rally is filled and there are 7 on the standby
list. If there are cancellations, contact the Wagonmasters immediately so that
others on the waiting list would be able to go.

John McBride from Saturn of the Lakes in Tavares informed the club about new
Saturn models that were appropriate for towing. He brought two of the models
with him for the club to see. All Saturn models with the exception of the
"SKY" are flat towables. In addition to VUE (hybrid), Saturn has a new
hybrid that will be coming out in a few months. John told us that if we were
looking for a flat towable, to do a search on Google. He stressed that not all
cars are flat towables.
Three 50/50 drawings were held. One for $50, one for $30 and one for $25. Next
