The Secretary's minutes were approved. The Treasurer's report indicates a net balance of $xxx. Treasurer's report was approved. $5.00 dues are to be paid now. Tom introduced Dave Johnson who informed us about new air purification units that are now available. 26 prospective new members and guests introduced themselves to the club. A head count was taken for the people who wanted to go to lunch at Augustne's. Tom introduced Joe Humphrey who makes the green magnetic name tags that most members wear. You may contact Joe if you want to purchase a name tag (753-8853). Al Sandy, Vice President, is also in charge of public relations for the club. He and Tom will meet with any new people who have questions after our general meeting. Tables are located in the rear of the room where 50/50 tickets are being sold plus all the information on the various rallies and club paraphernalia. The ladies small jackets still have not arrived. Eve Sandy, club historian, (750-4822) has the club's scrapbooks on the back table. Give her any pictures that were taken on rallies or club functions. Place the pictures in an envelope and mark each one with the date and place of rally including names of people in picture. She wants actual photos not disks. Please include a separate picture of the Wagon Masters and any group shots. There is a need for future rally Wagon Masters for trips. Contact Chuck and Judy Bertsch (259-0032). Tickets are $9/person and attendance is limited to 100 participants. Tickets will be available at the February meeting. The rally is full, however, if you are interested put your name on the waiting list. There is a 20 couple maximum. He will need your check by February meeting ($23.40 for 30 amp, $26.10 for 50 amp.) Make check payable to Marilyn at the February meeting. They hope to schedule a visit with Governor Bush. Golf will be available and a theater show. Quite possibly another Tallahassee rally will be offered. *May 5-9 will be Marco Island rally. 30-40 sites are available. $140/package. RV's must be 22' plus in length. Ed and Betty Johnson are the Wagon Master s (750-1099). You will need to pay for this rally by April. *May 16-20 - Dunedin rally - George and Linda Fiedler (259-9778) are the Wagon Masters. He has 25-30 sites reserved. Cost is $34-$37/site. They will hold their silly activities in the evening. They also will schedule the dinner boat cruise out of Clearwater at $18 per person. There is also the possibility of going to the dinner theater near Clearwater. Money is to be paid now for activities and shows. In April you will need to make your own reservation at the Dunedin RV Resort. You are encouraged to put your name on the waiting list. *JUNE, JULY AND AUGUST - WE NEED WAGON MASTERS AND ARE OPEN TO SUGGESTION FOR RALLY LOCATIONS. Others prefer to fly out of Orlando to Anchorage. We will do the land tour first for 8 days followed by the southbound cruise for 8 days. A short meeting will be held following this meeting. They will travel to Titusville, FL and from there will go to the Seafood Festival in Grant, FL. Nancy Smelzer mentioned this was the last opportunity to order club jackets. Guest speaker Gary from "All About Carts" (409-2702) was introduced. He offered good information about RV batteries. Liz Lococo said the Key West trip was a success and the fishermen caught two sailfish. The Lococo's had a wreck on the way home and totaled their van. Often times this is how the Wagon Masters keep in touch with people going on trips. If you sign up for a trip and find you cannot go, you MUST inform the Wagon Master otherwise we worry that something might have happened on the road. Becky has copies of the new roster. Linda explained that if guests are staying at your home, they may come to a rally. This is an adult club so probably would not include grandchildren. Basically the rallies are members only. The Wagon Master will need to make the decision for each individual rally. If a guest has an RV, they should make their own reservations but probably would not be included in our club functions, such as potlucks, cruises, golf, etc. Linda said this subject of guests will probably be addressed in the new By Laws as well as the subject of former members attending club functions. In the absence of Sunshine Chairperson, Sandy Ballot, Linda Sturgess sent cards to Dennis Lillefloren and Tom Schmelzer. If anyone hears about anyone ill or hospitalized, they may contact Linda or Sandy. They cannot send a card if they do not know about their circumstances. A show of hands indicated members would again enjoy a February picnic and swap meet. Del Creekmur asked if anyone knows of someone who takes care of dogs in their home. Tom announced that yellow jackets are now on sale for $32 which will include name and logo. The jackets will be on sale this month and next month. Jerry Seaman was our fashion model for the jackets. Everyone was asked to be sure to sign in every month and also to sign up for any trips they may want to take. Tom appointed a committee to review the current By Laws: Jim Osborn and Butch Ballot. This committee is to meet with the Executive Officers to discuss any changes. Tom appointed Becky Rhoton to be Membership Chairperson to handle all membership details. Carl Fairbanks shared information about a Golfer's Association for RV's. The program was put on by Healthier Resolutions. They are Clean Air and Water specialists. A 7-day in-home trial was offered to the membership. Golf Scramble at Pimlico - May 23 - Joyce Armstrong said it is full and we should have a lot of fun at golf and the social afterwards. Christmas Party at the Savannah Center will be December 3. Linda Sturgess and Pat Humphrey are chairwomen for this party. Tickets will be available in September. The price will be $23/member. $25/guest. If you are not in town during September, you may send a check to Pat Humphrey, 512 Bonita Drive. Nancy Schmelzer announced that the June meeting will be a breakfast meeting. The 50/50 was split among four people. David from Mopeds and More from Ocala showed us various electric bikes and scooters and explained their warranty and services. All bikes are street legal. Chuck Bertsch, Wagon Master, introduced Wagon Masters for the upcoming rallies. Check the 2004 Schedule for names of Wagon Masters. President Tom Schmelzer introduced Ruth from Gilbert RV Insurance. She presented an insightful overview about RV insurance and also passed out brochures. Some comments from the floor warned vehicle owners that if your RV is on a consignment lot, there is no insurance coverage should you have a problem with your vehicle during that time, i.e., vandalism. Also if the dealership goes bankrupt, you can lose your vehicle and have no restitution. Dues are due today and you will be dropped from the active roster if they are not paid. Please notify Walt McKechnie or Carole Kugelman if your e-mail has changed. Tom again talked with Pete Wahl who said no additional parking will be available. He feels there is enough outside parking for RV's. People waiting for spaces need to put name on the waiting list. Pete will send a memo to the sales people concerning the fact no storage is available. This may be reviewed again at a future date. Members are invited to attend the Balloon Festival in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the first two weeks in October. Dry camping at $65 per night for a total of $195. Tom is looking for someone to organize monthly golf scrambles for the club. We received information that Pete Wahl has said no additional parking will be available. We probably will extend the rally one day in order to see the Lipizzan stallions and the swim suit show. Don Crosby, Web Master, gave a demonstration on exploring our Web site. guests). We said the pledge
to our flag and then shook hands and introduced ourselves to people seated
near us. Tom took a picture
of the crowd since he usually is at the back of the room looking at the back
of heads rather than seeing
faces! The Secretarys minutes were read and approved. The Treasurers report indicated the previous balance was $xxxx and we had expenses of $xxxx leaving a new net balance of $xxxx. Treasurers report approved. Tom introduced the Audit Committee consisting of Len Holdsworth, Skip and JaneMarie Dorsey. The Audit Committee collectively approved the financial statements as submitted and state they are the Villages RV Clubs true financial position for the year 2003. Tom thanked all the previous officers (Linda, Bob, Butch and Walt) for doing such a fine job these past years. Twenty one prospective new members introduced themselves to the club. Tom made a special invitation that guests may meet with Linda Sturgess and Tom after the meeting to answer any questions about the club. Another fun activity of our club that allows us to socialize more and get to know one another better is going to lunch after the meeting. Everyone is invited. A show of hands was counted and reservations were made to go to Augustines. Our speaker was Chris Berry from Bella Lighting and Fan who showed us an electric fireplace that can be used in RVs as well as in other places like the lanai. Tom thanked the club members for responding to the survey that was sent out. He stated that some new ideas also were suggested. A sign-up sheet was on the table for the first event that is mini-golf. The area in the back of our meeting room has information tables set up for all the upcoming rallies, paying 2004 dues ($5/rig), purchase of club shirts and paraphernalia, picnic signup and any other signups. Chuck introduced each Wagon Master and each one reported on their scheduled rally. Dana Bishop reported that 33 units went to Sarasota for the New Years trip. We had a good time and good weather. Tish and Don Stanley will make arrangements for this rally next year. Chet Sturgess reported on the Outdoor Expo which will be held March 13 and 14. He needs three more couples to help work the booth. Call Chet at 750-3976.

from the Club. NEW BUSINESSLen Holdsworth inquired if there was any interest in making arrangements for a RV Club cruise. He gave some possibilities: Eastern Carribean, Carnival Glory $649-$949; Western Carribean, Holland America $599-$985 for verandah cabins. If 15 people decide to go, there will be a price break. Tom Schmeltzer is looking for an instructor to demonstrate CPR. This would be a worthwhile skill to learn. He will contact the paramedics or fire department. We need volunteers to help coordinate outside activities. Give Tom you name if you would like to be on the outside activities. Tom approached Pete Wahl about the possibility of more RV storage spaces. Pete said The Villages plans to expand the industrial park for additional RV parking. There will also be a new storage area on the new side. Be sure to put your name on the waiting list so they know there is a need. We again were cautioned to wait for the gate system to close before driving off. Water Oaks had some major RV break-ins. Don Abrams gave out 5 prizes for the 50/50.
